Give1Project Women Training Center’s mission is to build confident, skilled, and self-sufficient women leaders through education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship. The center provides access to life-changing programs in areas like digital literacy, reproductive health, and financial education. Over the last two years, the programming has reached more than 1,500 girls, and 92 percent of participants have demonstrated increased leadership skills and improved academics.
In many rural areas of Senegal, adolescent girls face severe educational and economic barriers. Early marriage, lack of access to reproductive health knowledge, and limited vocational opportunities often lead girls to drop out of school. Cultural stigmas and poverty further reduce their ability to make informed decisions about their futures. Girls are frequently left out of conversations about leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development.
With support from the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund, Give1Project Women Training Center will provide holistic programming to address the unique needs of adolescent girls. The organization will deliver leadership training sessions, establish school-based girls’ clubs, and offer mentorship from local female role models. Girls will gain critical knowledge in reproductive health, digital tools, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, financial literacy and vocational training is provided so that participants can establish sustainable income-generating activities.
The organization’s approach is to empower girls to stay in school, delay early marriage, lead in their communities, and become self-reliant. The project expects to reach 1,200 girls directly and engage more than 3,000 parents, teachers, and community members. The organization hopes that by transforming the lives of girls, it can also uplift entire communities—creating a ripple effect of education, opportunity, and equality.
